Asian Festival

The Asian Festival 2026 – “Wonders of Asia”, held on Wednesday, 2 September 2026, was a vibrant celebration of the rich cultural diversity, traditions and cuisines of Asia, bringing together members of the international and local communities for a memorable occasion.

The event began with a warm welcome and opening remarks by AAWAG President Ms. Maria Sorreta, who welcomed the distinguished guests, participants and members of the community and highlighted the spirit of friendship, cultural exchange and unity at the heart of the festival.

We were deeply honoured to welcome H.E. Mme. Tatiana Valovaya, Director-General of the United Nations Office at Geneva, who delivered an inspiring speech and officially opened the Asian Festival 2026 – “Wonders of Asia.” Her presence and support added great significance to this special occasion.

We were equally honoured by the presence of Ms. Binying Wang, Deputy Director General of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), who also addressed the gathering and showed great interest and appreciation for the rich diversity of Asian cultures represented at the festival.

The festival was a tremendous success, featuring a colourful programme of cultural performances, music, traditional displays and Asian cuisine. The lively atmosphere and enthusiastic participation of our guests made the celebration truly special.

Another exciting highlight was the presentation of more than 60 prizes, including airline tickets and vouchers for five-star hotels in Geneva, adding further excitement to an already memorable event.

Year after year, the Asian Festival – “Wonders of Asia” continues to grow in popularity and recognition. It has become an important platform for showcasing the beauty and diversity of Asian cultures and cuisines while strengthening friendship, understanding and connections among the different communities in Geneva.

An event of this scale would not be possible without the dedication and hard work of many people.

We extend our heartfelt appreciation to the Festival Committee and all our wonderful volunteers for their time, energy and commitment. Also to the enthusiastic support of our members and spouses, and mission officers and staffs. Their tremendous efforts before and during the festival played an essential role in making the event such a great success.

We also sincerely thank our distinguished guests, participants, performers, supporters and everyone who joined us in celebrating the Asian Festival 2026 – “Wonders of Asia.”
